I love maple seedpods. When I was a kid we called them whirligigs. They were fun to walk through, and they signaled the end of the school year. The way they spin to the ground is so cool to watch.
When I was only 4 years old, while vacationing in Missoula, Montana, we tossed bushel baskets of these nature's "helicopters" off the high bridge in town. I will never forget the sight !
