DAY 53

The duck population along the trail seems to be thriving. What does one call a group of ducks?

Well online we're told that a "group of ducks is called a badelynge, bunch, brace, flock, paddling, raft or team. Also, one might call it a dover of ducks."

Now I love a bit of pretentious name-calling as well as the next man, but those names seem entirely too Brit to me.

Since we already refer to a large quantity as a "big honking X" why not call a group of ducks a honk?

A honk of ducks.

That's my suggestion anyway.
